It's a good unit for a 720p model. I've use it for TV and computer for about 4 years. I rarely wish for higher resolution, but will upgrade it some da.. |

Bought it last August 18, 2008. Definitely not durable. Mine only lasted for 6 months and then the dealer gave me a new unit, (February 2009) same bra.. |

| Great superb picture now on HD with this set |
| Problems: The black intermittent screen problem, yes Philips are aware of it, and as I spoke to customer service, they are in fact sending me a usb stick with a supposed fix for this, However I have already updated the latest firmware, (recommend doing this from the official Philips site).
They are aware and it is trying to be fixed, it is to do with the license for the HD signal itself, apparently, or so the Philips operator told me, it goes black as it is trying to allow the HD signal through, by license.
Mad but true, and at the minute its not fixed, but as my TV set is a rental, I just about to request a replacement set. |

| I am adding to the above review. We have the same problem with the screen going black intermittently and randomly. I wouldn't describe it as a minor irritation but a huge annoyance. The TV was working fine with the standard Sky box and this problem only started after the Sky HD box was connected. Sky support say it is the TV and tell me to contact Philips while Philips support say it must be a problem with Sky. Frankly I've had enough and am ready to chuck the TV at the whole lot of them! |

| This TV set is excellent value, pleasing on the eye and simple to set up. It has one problem that may not be the TV but the overall digital set up with SK+HD box. It has an intermittent black screen problem, with sound continuing, for maybe 1 - 2 seconds. This occurs maybe once an hour and sometimes 3 or 4 times in succession, but a minor irritation when considering picture quality and overall experience.
At just over ?400 it represents good value for money.
The problem referred to is experienced by many people with other manufactrers - see google. |
